Urban development and municipal image was the focus of the MCC Fall Academy in Kecskemét, where students from the University Program and the High School Program were inspired together.
Students were introduced to the practical and theoretical basics of urban development. Joint activities, such as the urban simulation game or the presentation of development plans, promoted intergenerational learning and joint thinking in building the future.
During the weekend, they learned how a city's unique image can become a driving force for development. Anna Gera, sociologist and geographer, and Dr. Gyula Nagy, adjunct professor at the SZTE, provided the theory behind the seminar.
A walk through the city center of Kecskemét and the professional presentations highlighted the architectural values of Kecskemét and how students can use their own ideas to promote development. Dr. Gábor Erhardt, Head of the Center for Architecture and Remembrance, provided a professional focus for the walk and enriched the students' knowledge with his rich experience.
The highlight of the weekend was not only the professional development, but also the shared experiences, such as the theater visit and the exploration of Kecskemét.
