For the third time, the MCC Debate Academy organized a four-day training course on the shore of Lake Balaton, bringing together qualified debaters and students of all ages who have excelled in formal debating and who wish to further improve their debating skills.
The atmosphere of the event was set by the ice breaker games and the quiz.
Campers then had the opportunity to participate in plenary presentations,workshops in small groups and, in addition to the usual debate formats, to explore more unusual formats such as problem-solving and balancing debates.
A wide range of interactive workshops aimed at developing different skills: learning about international debate experiences, negotiation techniques, the phenomena of an 18th century London debating club or exploring a crime through debate and rhetoric. In addition, a theater of debate was organized, where participants could argue their case in the guise of different characters.
The free time was not uneventful. For those who did not choose the waves of Lake Balaton, there were cultural programs and various team building sports activities.
In keeping with our tradition, the days ended with "crazy debates", where humour was the other main topic of discussion.
