"Do you want to talk to me - tell me? / I live my days in a different way! / I may think differently of the world, / We are not from the same branch."
What better time to get to know each other, to deepen friendships, than when the inclement weather drives us all under one roof? Neither rain nor gales could prevent the MCC training center in Szombathely from holding a great family day, because the interest in each other is stronger than even the most adverse natural forces.
For a whole day, FIT and KP students and their families in Szombathely could choose from a variety of colorful programs. While the elementary school students refreshed their friendship with team-building games - it's not so easy to remember whose Jenga tower was the tallest this spring - the high school students could talk to Zsófia Zsidi, MCC's lead instructor, about how to manage their time the best at the time management workshop.
For MCC, it is important that, as well as increasing students' knowledge, parents are not forgotten, as they are the primary support for young people. Without a well-adjusted, happy parent, the child faces many more difficulties. But how can we achieve this balance? The audience in Szombathely asked psychologist Dr. Tímea Magyaródi for help in answering this question. The audience was introduced to different coping strategies, learned about the difference between psychological, spiritual and social well-being, and the proportion of our individual activities, living conditions and biological endowments that contribute to our happiness. In addition to the topic of mental health, the center also welcomed parents to another very interesting presentation. Specialists from the Vas County Police Headquarters gave an information session for parents, presenting different areas of crime prevention such as the protection of order in community and virtual spaces, child and youth protection, drug demand reduction, property and economic protection, highlighting important and up-to-date information that can help us to recognise the dangers that surround us and our children.
Of course, the MCC students' siblings were not bored either. The youngest children spent the morning tinkering with glitter, making bracelets, and the afternoon felting and carving skis. The older ones were invited to a debate with Luca Jáki, where they learned the basics of argumentation.
Logic board games from the Tudor toy company were available for families to play all day. The colorful program was crowned by a giant family quiz competition, where more than 20 teams competed against each other in terms of literacy and skill.
In addition to the professional programmes and fun games, the event was also a great opportunity for great conversations, rediscovering each other and making new friends and acquaintances. The words of Ervin Aranyosi are rightly ringing in our ears after a full day:
"I could be yozr friend, no need look further more !
Time together will be fun!
If we live our friendship honestly,
We'll exchange our opinions..."
