High school and elementary school students studying German visited the Styrian capital on the second Saturday of Advent. They took part in interactive science activities at the CoSA and explored the city centre with an Austrian guide, which has 14 Christmas markets.

The Young Talent Program and the High School Program offer foreign language courses in English and German for students applying for the programs at the MCC regional center in Zalaegerszeg every year. The field trip to Graz is not the first time that regional center organized a excursion abroad. Being in the country of the target language contributes greatly to the motivation of the students, and the middle and highschoolers  could expolre the  city together. In the CoSA (Center of Science Activities), they could try to overcome, or at least experience, the laws of physics with the help of interactive tools, and they got an insight into the functioning of a hospital: they diagnosed "patients", took "blood" and analysed it. In the third part of the exhibition area, the focus was on engineering, where a car was assembled from various parts and tested on a computer simulator. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the city's architectural heritage, from the Mura Island to the Kunsthaus and the Landeszeugmuseum, and of course the clock tower, was also on offer. Then, at the Christmas market, they could activate their Germanic skills even more by buying horn cakes, apple punch, waffles, roasted chestnuts and potato specialities. On the way home, they had a lively exchange of views on the attractions of Austria's second largest city and the Christmas market.
